PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Aloha Honolulu Sunset Rotarians,
I wish you all a great Rotary New Year! First of all, I would like to congratulate our Immediate Past-President Ary Radnaeva for her outstanding leadership. Her leadership and the hard work of our 2020-2021 board translated into our growth as a club and increased our impact locally and globally. As we transition to this new Rotary year, I also hope to be able to meet the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities.
RI President's theme for this year is “Serve to Change Lives” and he is urging Rotarians all over the world to involve more in service projects. I am so proud to be a member of Honolulu Sunset that has already proven its abilities to serve locally and globally. This coming year will be no exception!
This is not an ordinary time. Therefore, I urge you all to dream of new ways in which Honolulu Sunset can expand its reach into our community and the world. I really encourage you all to participate in our club events and meetings regularly and provide your feedback so that we can have a more meaningful club experience. I am looking forward to an exciting Rotary year.
Best wishes for a safe and joyous Independence Day.
Mahalo
Arjun Aryal
President, 2021-2022
NEXT WEEK'S MEETING - July 8
Our speaker next week will be Kaulana McCabe, to talk about building a brighter future for Hawaii's youth. Kaulana is Kupu's Senior Program Manager for The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Ho'okupu Center. Born and raised in Kahalu'u, O'ahu, Kaulana is a proud graduate of Windward Community College, where he eventually became the Project Director for the campus' TRiO Student Support Services program. Having a father in the police department, and witnessing first hand how destructive the crystal meth epidemic was in his community, Kaulana knew he wanted to be a part of the solution rather than the problem. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Hawaii and has been with Kupu for just over three years, developing programs for under-resourced youth.
Join us in person at the Waikiki Yacht Club, or on Zoom. The meeting starts at 6:30 PM, with fellowship beforehand.
