PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Aloha Fellow Rotarians,
This week was particularly important for me. I had a great opportunity to learn from our current and past members during our ‘Club Assembly and Members Reunion’ on Thursday evening. Current and past RCHS members attended in-person and virtually provided me with highly valuable information about what ‘service’ means to us as a Rotarian. Also, the feedback about what are the things we have been doing well and what are the possible areas we can improve as a club were insightful.
This week, our club has received several impactful community service grant requests from a variety of organizations. More importantly, most of them will have significant opportunities to participate and work on hands-on activities. The selected projects will be a part of our District Grants this year.
Our next meeting on July 22 will be off-site as our WYC venue is not available. This Vocational/Fellowship/Social event will be at the Himalayan Kitchen in Kaimuki. Please bring your families and friends and enjoy the buffet dinner.
I hope to see you all at our next meeting at the Himalayan Kitchen.

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
On Sunday, July 18, 2021, Clare Schnurr, Gabriel Ruelas, and Liz Kane went to Walmart to purchase school supplies for 13 homeless students at Ma'ili Elementary School, using money donated from Honolulu Sunset Rotarians. The original estimate was that to buy all the items on the list would cost about $50 per student. Thanks to the Walmart sale, the cost, including for one backpack for each student, came to approximately $48 per student.
Clare will let us know when and where we will be stuffing the purchases into backpacks.
